♥ You're young until you're not, you love until you don't, you try until you can't, you laugh until you cry, you cry until you laugh, and everyone must breathe until their dying breath. No, this is how it works. You appear inside yourself. You take the things you like, and try to love the things you took, and then you take that love you made and stick it someone else's heart, pumping someone else's blood. --Regina Spektor

< WoW rant >
PvE servers feel like busy work to me. While the idea of riding into a contested area without having to watch your back is nice, and the idea that while killing a quest mob some asshole can't come up and gank you, the lack of realtime conflict between two factions DESIGNED to be at war with one another makes the world seem boring and elementary. The Horde and Alliance don't play nice and they never have -- it's the reason Blizzard designed the game to have two factions. And when the two factions have no form of communication between them, cannot share townspace (except in specifically designed cities, like Shattrath City and, soon, Dalaran), and whose questlines and lore specifically blame the other for all the downfalls of their people?
I guess I just can't be arsed to play on a PvE server, because .. while the idea is nice? It's busywork, and I like the idea of a REAL environment with REAL clashes between the Horde and Alliance in REAL time. It's an MMO -- the idea is that it's mass multiplayer. I don't mind being ganked -- I'll put up a fight and often I win. Or I'll log onto my main and lay about me with spear and bow (and pig).
But I don't pay $15/mo to do busywork. If I wanted to do that, I'd go play an RPG on a PlayStation.
Besides, it's nice to play on a PvP server like Tichondrius -- you get to tell people TICH IS NOT FOR YOU LOL.

This is my holy paladin, Ironbraid, at level 65. He could not look like less of a paladin if he tried -- he looks like some sort of angry, drunken robot.
He is the greatest thing on the server.

Apparently my warlock has a blood elf boyfriend with the same fashion sense. Who knew?

Melinette is the character I got bored with for months, who languished at level 16 for a dog's age. I don't know what made me pick her back up -- but she's catching up to Shoomlah in level. She makes Shoomlah look boring. I guess I hadn't really hit my stride as a warlock yet.
( ding! )
