first off, i do not hold myself accountable for any spelling errors or grammar or whatever for this entry, cos I'm using stacy's mac and the keyboard is laid out weird, is tiny, and isn't mine. I miss my own computer almost more than i miss my bed, which is sad. D:
I should post more about dragon*con -- I've made three new livejournal friends as a result of it. I bought some pretty neat stuff and went to the wow_ladies meet and greet before one of the WoW panels, and got two free pieces of loot from it: an Alliance patch and window decal, and which is where I also met
volsi. Despite there being an overwhelming amount of filthy Hordies at the meet, it was still a lot of fun; I found out during roll call that while the Horde roars, the Alliance (composed of most of the girls at the panel) screams. It'd be a little embarassing if the Alliance didn't rock so hard.
I spent more time gaming this year than last year, which meant I played a bunch of really cool games -- Hex Hex and Hex Hex Next, its expansion; Fluxx; Are You A Werewolf? (which, despite a bad moderator, remains my favorite game to play at DC, and something I plan on moderating next year), Exalted: War for the Throne, which I now own; Cash n Guns, and invariably a few others. I also watched a ton of games being played. There were some pretty amazing costumes, which I got a few pictures of, and I also met up with a doller friend of mine from Eden Enchanted and snapped a picture with her. I also got my hands on the 2nd edition Sidereals book for Exalted, and perfectcherry may smite me for beginning to think the Sids are pretty awesome.
And, last but certainly not least, my brother from another mother was there and I got to see him -- Doug(!) made it to DragonCon, though I'm not at all sure where he slept or even if he did sleep.
Since returning to Lawrenceville I've just done a lot of bumming around the house, done some roleplaying, a little bit of WoW, and have worked on some drawings in my long-neglected sketchbook.
Today I gave a couple of pints of blood at the local Red Cross (Stacy had an appointment and I decided to give blood as well) and ended up damn near passing out. I was manhandled to the little couch and made to lay down with my feet up as my blood pressure dropped by about 30ish points. I found that when having lost that much fluid, your extremities go completely numb and non-functional, because despite all mental and physical effort I couldn't even bend my fingers. It was very weird. As soon as I laid down I was okay, and after drinking some OJ and eating cheese and crackers I recovered quickly and was on my way. After doing that, I went and bought a somewhat disgusting amount of candy at the Assi Asian Mart and some stationary at the Morning Glory.
I'm actually pretty tired now so I think I'm going to call it a night. I'll try and post the DC pictures up tomorrow when I get them off of her dad's digital camera.
P.S. -- one week 'til my birthday! Woot!
